Post & Bean Election Night Dinner

Chef Govind Armstrong at Post & Beam invites diners on Nov. 6 to watch election returns.  A special classic American three-course pre-fixe dinner is $26. Enjoy 50 percent off selected bottles of wine. Start with a corn griddle cake with smoked salmon and crème fraiche. A carved slow cooked brisket is served with buttermilk mashed potatoes and greens. Election Night Dinner at JAR

Bring home Chef Suzanne Tracht’s election dinner on Nov. 6. She is offering three salads to choose with an iceberg wedge with blue cheese dressing, little gem Caesar or butter lettuce salad for starters while you watch the results. A delicious pot roast, coq au vin, or a cedar-smoked salmon are the entrée selections. Desserts are a butterscotch or chocolate pudding or banana cream pie with a caramel sauce. Dinner for two is $63. It includes two sides that include mashed potatoes, Mac-n-cheese, pea tendrils, creamed spinach or corn. Orders must be completed by Sun. Nov. 4. Superba Snack Bar

On Mon. Nov. 5 Chef Jason French of Ned Ludd restaurant in Portland, OR will join Chef Jason Neroni for the first “Guest Chef Series,” at Superba Snack Bar. Chefs from around the country will come cook with Neroni. The two Jason’s will prepare a seven-course menu featuring artisanal dishes paired with various wines from CA. and OR. Wirtshaus in November

This entire month will feature seven special schnitzels. One is a liver variation topped with onions, another is a schnitzel with a spicy sauce of bell peppers and onions. There is also a pretzel-breaded schnitzel with eggplant. Edgar Poureshagh is putting together a collection of hard to find sparkling wines from Italy on Nov. 7 for an evening of multiple tastings for $20. Take a sip of Serrapetrona, Franciacorta and the bone-dry Lambrusco. Three other wines will offer sparkling and flavorful notes. Fall Party Table Designing Class

On Nov. 7 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Rock star/Chef Terri Wahl of Auntie Em’s Kitchen is offering tablescaping classes for holiday hosts looking to spice up their tables this season. Wahl demonstrates and guides students how to incorporate personal style to displays. Her simple guidelines create an interactive group activity. She will share her secrets of finding terrific thrift shops and flea markets treasures to make your table pop with holiday cheer. LA Beer Hop

Each Wed. in Nov. a shuttle ferries beer lovers to some of the best beer bars in town. Good Food Festival

Learn about organic and sustainable food programs during the “Good Food Conference” being held on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 5905 Wilshire Blvd.

Complimentary tours of artworks related to food and dining start at 10:30 a.m. MacArthur Genius and urban farmer, Will Allen, will give the keynote presentation beginning at noon in the Bing Theatre, followed by panel discussions on “Building Community with Good Food”; “Good Food = Good Jobs”; and “Is GMO Labeling Coming to California?”. Tickets $45; $35 for students, seniors and LACMA members. Guests can also enjoy dishes prepared by 30 of L.A.’s leading chefs paired with farmers from the Santa Monica Farmers Markets at “Localicious”, on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Annenberg Community Beach House, 595 Pacific Coast Hwy., Santa Monica.
