Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Giveaway

Come to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on National Coffee Day, Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The first 200 people in attendance at the store will receive a free CBTL Milk Frother. The “Trade Up Your Cup Event” allows a guest to exchange any new or old coffeemaker for a brand new complimentary CBTL Kaldi Machine. It’s available to the first 2,500 customers and limited to the black, white, red and blue model valued at $179.95. Limit one per machine per person, while supplies last.  The CBTL Single Serve Beverage System has premium espresso, coffee and hand-plucked tea. Come sample 12 signature varieties. L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade

On Sept. 29, over 40 top chefs and mixologists are serving tastes on the lawn of the historic Culver Studios Mansion. Hosted by Suzanne Goin, Caroline Styne from Lucques, AOC and Tavern and Chef David Lentz from The Hungry Cat, tastings of delicious dishes from all over the country will be served as Jimmy Kimmel emcees the event and live auction. Proceeds benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, dedicated to realizing Alex’s dream of eradicating childhood cancer. Alexandra “ Alex” Scott, founded Alex’s Lemonade Stand in 2000, at four years old. Firestone-Walker Pig Roast

Beer Extravaganza

Matt Wilson, regional sales manager for Ballast Point Brewering and Spirits, is bringing special brews to Mohawk Bend, including Barmy Apricot Wheat Wine, Sculpin IPA. Spanish Cuisine Cooking Class

On Sat. Oct. 6 at 1 p.m., the Westin Bonaventure is hosting a “Cooking on the Edge with Executive Chef Andreas Nieto” with a focus on Spain. The three-course menu includes a delectable salad with Serrano ham and Manchego cheese, followed by his own family-style recipe for a classic Valencia Spanish Paella, and finishes with a Crema Catalana. The meal is paired with great Spanish wines selected by Nieto. Participants must be 21 years old, limit 2 people per reservation, $55 per person. 404 S. NFL at Islands

Football fans will cheer every Mon. and Thurs. during NFL games with extended Happy Hour specials. Handcrafted beers, tropical drinks, Beachside sliders and Island fries are under $5. On Sundays Bloody Marys and Island beers are $3.95. On the regular menu, Islands is offering a new Beach Bowl for $9.49. Order grilled chicken or Mahi-Mahi served on top of brown rice. Italian Feast of San Gennaro

The 11th annual Galbani Cheese feast begins on Sept. 28 with a gala hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla. Louis Prima Jr. honors Italian Americans in sports including Dodger great Tommy Lasorda and NFL’s Lou Cordileone. Enjoy three days of music, food, wine, rides and games 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Hollywood & Highland between Highland and Orange. General admission is $5 and kids under 12 are free. All proceeds benefit the San Gennaro Foundation, established to provide aid to children and families in need in Los Angeles.
