Music legend Herb Alpert will perform a benefit concert on Oct. 6 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in support of his alma mater, Fairfax High School. Alpert will be joined by his wife, vocalist Lani Hall, and the concert will be the highlight of Fairfax High School’s 2012 Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

“It’s an opportunity for our alumni and community members to witness and celebrate the incredible legacy our past and current students have forged,” Fairfax High director of development Joyce Kleifield said.

Proceeds will support education programs at Fairfax High. The evening will commence at 6 p.m. with a no host bar social hour and dinner for all ticket holders, with performances by Fairfax students and alumni.

“People need to experience first hand the incredible young scholars today’s students are,” Friends of Fairfax co-founder Whitney Weston said. “It’s no accident that so many successful and caring people graduated from Fairfax.”

The Ebell Theatre is located at 743 S. Lucerne Blvd. Tickets are $75 to $250. For sponsorship information, call Kleifield at (323)370-1220, or e-mail to joyce@friendsoffairfax.org. For tickets and information, call (800)595-4849, or visit www.friendsoffairfax.org.
