On Aug. 8, Donna Walker pled guilty to grand theft and tax charges after Danetracks Inc., a West Hollywood post-production sound facility, reported they were the victim of an embezzlement on Feb. 13, 2008.
Walker was the vice president of Danetracks Inc. between 2001 and 2008. She was charged in a criminal filing on Jan. 19 with a theft of more than $812,000 from Danetracks Inc. She was additionally charged with not reporting income and failing to pay state taxes on the funds she embezzled. She was arrested in Winter Park, Fla., and extradited to California in February this year. Her bail was set at $812,000.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 14. At the hearing, Walker will be ordered to be confined in the state prison and to make full restitution to the victim and to the state. The plea culminates a three-year investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the California Franchise Tax Board.
The plea agreement was reached during the second day of testimony in her preliminary hearing at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
