Chef Laurent Quenioux will prepare a four course, special pop-up dinner on Aug. 5, 6, for $50 per person at Barney Greengrass Restaurant. An amuse bouche of black sesame ice cream and yellowtail is followed by a cold poached mackerel with goat cheese, veal sweet breads and finished with a rabbit pie with black garlic and baby chards. Nels Becker of Gruet Winery will pour six of their sparkling wines to be paired with 5 delicious market-fresh courses prepared by L’Ermitage’s Chef Joseph Elevado on Aug. 8. Echo Park’s one-year-old Mohawk Bend restaurant will be hosting a Bowen’s Whiskey Night tonight from 6 – 9 p.m. Chef Mike Garber is preparing a special menu to be paired with this Bakersfield-made whiskey by distiller Wade Bowen, who will be on hand to chat about his craft-made whiskey.
