A 29-year-old man reportedly jumped to his death from the parking structure at The Grove Sunday evening in what authorities said was a suicide.
Witnesses called 911 around 7:30 p.m. to report that a man had jumped from the 7th level of the parking structure in the 7900 block of W. 3rd Street, according to Officer Bruce Borihan, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department. Firefighters and paramedics also responded, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, near the main pedestrian entrance to the garage and the concierge desk.
Ed Winter, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, identified the victim as Brian Henry, a resident of San Pedro Street in Los Angeles. Winter said he could not provide any further information about the victim, and added that an autopsy was scheduled on Tuesday. Borihahn and Winter said although the incident is believed to be a suicide, both the LAPD and the coroner’s office are conducting an investigation, which is currently ongoing.
