Happy Friday the 13th from Hollywood

The characters who roam the area by Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, including this individual wearing a Jason Voorhees mask from the “Friday the 13th” series, wished residents and tourists a happy holiday on Friday, July 13.
Friday was the third Friday the 13th of the year. According to www.livescience.com, the “unlucky” dates fell 13 weeks apart this year, marking the first time that has occurred since 1984.
The website states that the fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia, or friggatriskaidekaphobia. The fear of the number 13 is referred to as Triskaidekaphobia.
Yet, the reason that the day is identified as an unlucky one is unclear. The website speculates that it may come from the Bible, as it was the 13th guest at the Last Supper to betray Jesus. He is said to have been crucified on a Friday, though that has been the subject of debate.
