Man Killed at El Nuevo Cafetal Restaurant in East Hollywood

Homicide detectives with the LAPD’s Northeast Division are investigating the death of 46-year-old Los Angeles resident who was found unconscious on April 7 in a restaurant in the 4900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.
Around 11 p.m., paramedics were called to El Nuevo Cafetal restaurant, located between Edgemont Street and Kenmore Avenue in East Hollywood. The victim, Nelson Guzman, was found lying on the ground outside the restaurant, suffering from blunt force trauma to the head. He was transported to the hospital and later died. Investigators believe there were people inside or in front of the restaurant who may have seen what occurred.
