Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Olympic Division are searching for a suspect who robbed a jewelry store in Koreatown on April 16 and was caught on surveillance video.
The incident occurred around 3:10 p.m. when an unknown Asian male suspect entered the jewelry store in the 3500 block of West 6th Street. Posing as a customer, the suspect remained inside the store more than an hour and thirty minutes, looking at high-end jewelry. After the lengthy ruse, the suspect asked one of the store clerks to show him some jewelry, and then ran out the door with two diamond rings valued at $13,000.
The suspect is described as being 18 to 20 years old, six feet one inches tall with a slim build, and having black hair.
Anyone with information is urged to call LAPD’s Olympic Division robbery detectives at (213)382-9460.
