To the Walk of Fame, Batman!

Actor Adam West, best known for portraying the Caped Crusader in the 1960s television show, “Batman”, was honored with the 2,468th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, April 5.

A Washington native, West began his career as a radio DJ and television host. After arriving in Hollywood in 1959, he made his feature film debut in “The Young Philadelphians”, which starred Paul Newman.

Before “Batman”, West secured roles on several shows, including “Maverick”, “Bonanza”, and “The Outer Limits”. In 1965, he became Gotham City’s crime fighter.

Today, West can be heard on “Family Guy”, as the voice of Quahog Mayor Adam West. Guests during Thursday’s ceremony included “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane and radio personality Ralph Garman, who does various voices on the animated show.

West’s star was placed in front of the Guinness World of Records Museum.
