St. James’ Breaks Ground on New Preschool
By Edwin Folven, 2/23/2012
Young students from St. James’ Episcopal School’s preschool donned hardhats Thursday morning at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new preschool, which will be located on Gramercy Place, just north of Wilshire Boulevard.
The new preschool is expected to be completed in September, and will serve approximately 60 students. The current preschool is located at 4270 W. 6th St., approximately four blocks from the main campus, which serves grades K-6, on St. Andrews Place. The new preschool will bring the two campuses together, Head of School Debbi David said.
“This is a magic carpet into the future for us,” David added. “It brings our whole school closer together for the first time, and we will be able to hold our preschool under the shadow of our mother school.”
St. James’ Episcopal School, an affiliate of St. James Episcopal Church, is located at 625 S. Saint Andrews Pl. For information, call (213)382-2315, or visit www.sjsla.org.
