Best First Date

Make a date at 7 p.m. on Feb. 14 at the private second floor at Caulfield’s Bar & Dining Room for a bartending lesson. Beverage Director, Jeremy Back and Bartender, Pierre Dos Santos will teach guests, while trays of hors d’ ouvers are passed. There will be opportunities for guests to jump behind the bar and whip up a “Cupid’s Arrow” cocktail for his or her date. The Hotel Wilshire

BOA Steakhouse

Bring your sweetheart to BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood or Santa Monica for festive menus. At the West Hollywood location, ladies will receive complimentary flowers. Couples may enjoy Chef’s Valentine’s Day specials for two such as oyster three ways or lobster Thermidore stuffed with lobster mashed, baby carrots, baby fennel, snap peas and brandy sauce. Flemings for Valentine’s Day

Celebrate with a Venetian Valentine cocktail for $10.95 before enjoying the four-course Celebration menu for $69.95. Entrée choices are a roasted lobster tail or chateaubriand with crab glacage. Chefs Steve and Zach are creating a special three-course prix-fixe menu that includes a warm octopus insalatina or heirloom radicchio salad. Try the pane Frattau devil’s gulch pork coratella, or rigatoni chicken livers. Dessert is cannoli Sicilian ricotta with orange marmalade, pistachios, chocolate; and a bittersweet chocolate crostata hazelnuts with salted rosemary caramel. Join BLD for an intimate three-course dinner on Valentine’s Day. Entrées include seared lamb chops with sweet potato purée and a chard, tomato caper tapenade or lobster cake with sweet peppers, spinach and a truffle brown butter sauce. Red O Restaurant

This Valentine’s Day, Red O Restaurant is offering a three-course prix fixe dinner from 5 pm for $35 per person, featuring guacamole to share, an entrée each and a dessert each. Chef John Sedlar’s Corazones y Rosas menu is back now until Feb 21 to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Start with a four course prix-fixe menu dedicated to the infamous romance of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Menu includes: blood orange and cactus pear salad, sea bass fillet with maize essence, petite filet with Malbec wine sauce and black beans, and Brazilian baba cachaca with pink rose chantilly. $75 per person. Short Cake

Looking for something sweet as a Valentine’s Day treat? Try a Mexi-China Valentine’s Day menu now until Feb. 16 with a three-course prix-fixe menu. Public Kitchen & Bar

Public Kitchen & Bar will usher in Valentine’s Day with a four-course prix-fixe menu featuring baby beets with lavender goat cheese, orange, and pistachio. Try the filet mignon with horseradish mashed potatoes, heirloom spinach, and truffle sauce. Finish with white chocolate hearts with Clementine and candied rose petals. Cafe del Rey

Marina del Rey’s most romantic waterside dining destination invites couples to celebrate love with Executive Chef Daniel Roberts prix-fixe menu featuring signature dishes that showcase the season’s freshest ingredients. CHAYA Restaurants

A three-course prix fixe Chef’s Tasting menu features Euro Asian cuisine. Diners will choose from six starters, six entrées and a dessert sampler. Executive Chef Ricardo Zarate invites guests to enjoy a six-course Valentine’s Day prix-fixe menu. Highlights include yellowtail tiradito and pescado frito with pan roasted halibut. Chef Zarate’s downtown outpost is offering a six-course Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu. The menu features signature items including a Pisco Shooter and Caigua Rellena with stuffed Peruvian cucumber, queso fresco, raisins and aji Amarillo honey.  The Valentine’s Day menu is $49 per person and includes one glass of cava. WP24 Restaurant and Lounge

A six-course prix fixe Valentine’s Day menu features one of the restaurant’s most cherished dishes, Roasted Duckling Peking Style with traditional garnishes for $160 per person. In the WP24 Lounge, newly appointed pastry chef, Michael Aguilar, prepares a “For the Love of Chocolate” dessert menu. Sushi Roku

Offering a romantic retreat for couples in three destinations, Santa Monica, Hollywood and Pasadena. At the Santa Monica location, Sushi Roku is offering a Sweetheart Amuse that includes two glasses of bubbly for $30 and a special Valentine’s Day chocolate dessert. In Hollywood, guests are offered a prix-fixe Valentine’s menu for $45 per person including a tasting trio with jumbo shrimp wrapped potato strings with kobocha purée, Ume (six-piece Roku-style sushi selection), Chilean sea bass with truffle miso glaze and dessert. Comme Ca

Celebrate this Valentine’s Day in the romantic French brasserie setting of Comme Ca. Chef David Myers has created a three-course prix-fixe menu for $68 per person. It features sensuous dishes such as Ricotta Ravioli with English peas, mint and preserved lemon; Dorade with eggplant caviar, tomato and nicoise olive; and for dessert a Strawberry Tartlet with orange cream, fraise de boise sorbet.
