New Chef at The Peninsula
Executive Chef James Overbaugh, now the Executive Assistant Manager of Food & Beverage Operations, has hired Executive Chef David Codney to create some great new dishes for the Belvedere menu. The restaurant is the only AAA Five Diamond restaurant in Southern CA. Some of his signature dishes include a smoked gazpacho consommé with avocado and heirloom pear tomato. Learn to Make Sushi

Dining at the SB Film Festival
Almost 20 Santa Barbara restaurants are having a special prix fixe menu during the Santa Barbara Film Festival. Now through Feb. 3, Bistro 111 is offering a three-course meal served with wine for $38 per person. Julienne Restaurant is having a “Big Lebowski Meal” with a three-course meal for $25 per person. Miro at the beachfront Bacara Resort is having an elegant three-course tasting menu for $45 per person. Instead of driving back to Los Angeles, lodging specials are available at many resorts, hotels and B & Bs. A three-course dinner will be served for $45 during dineLA. Start with either the soup of the day or butter lettuce salad with lemon garlic vinaigrette. Chef Niki Nakayama invites diners to celebrate life and raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
