Melting Pot Thai Town Tour
Meet a group of foodie enthusiasts on Jan. 6 at 10:30 a.m. for a tasting tour of Thai Town with celebrity chef Jet Tila. The taste tour runs from savory to sweet. Bavarian Night is Jan. 5 from 5 p.m. to midnight. Enjoy the fun Oktoberfest festivities with live traditional German music, food and drink specials. Maite Gomez-Rejon blends fine art with culinary art on Jan. 14 and Jan. 15. Guests start the evening at 6:30 p.m. by exploring Italian paintings, sculptures and decorative art at LACMA. Then the group will walk to Ray’s & Stark Bar for a three-course meal prepared by Chef Kris Morningstar. His menu is inspired by the evening’s art theme. The dinners focus on Italian Art and Gastronomy. Participants will discuss Ancient Rome through the 18th century. Theme wines tastings by sommelier Paul Sanguinetti are available for an additional cost at dinner. The evening costs $90 for LACMA members and $100 for non-members. Unique Burger at Slater’s 50/50
Try the Peanut Butter and Jellousy burger with 50 percent prime Sterling Silver ground beef and 50 percent ground bacon. The white brioche or honey wheat bun is slathered with creamy peanut butter and strawberry jelly. The juicy patty is topped with thick cuts of bacon.
