Community Wine Dinner at Playa

New Menu at Red O

Award-winning chef-restaurateur, cookbook author and television personality Rick Bayless introduced a new seafood-heavy menu on April 16 featuring raw bar items and four new ceviches. Top Chef Event

Join Chefs Nyesha Arrington of Wilshire restaurant and Chris Crary of Whist restaurant, as they host contestants from Los Angeles’ Top Chef, Top Chef Masters and Top Chef Just Dessert for a backyard pig roast. Help end childhood hunger by going to Wilshire Restaurant on April 22 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from this one-of-a-kind event will go to Share our Strength’s Taste of the Nation Los Angeles. Kendall’s Brasserie

Executive Chef Jean Pierre Bosc joins one of Patina Restaurant Group’s French dining destination, Kendall’s Brasserie, next to the Los Angeles Music Center. Bosc worked at Leon de Lyon, a prestigious Michelin-starred restaurant. He also was the owner and executive chef of Mimosa and Café des Artistes. Some of the French fare he brings to the Brasserie includes Bouillabaisse Marseillaise with clams, mussels, market fish, shrimp rouille and croutons. Birthday Cake Yogurt

Available now until May 13, Yogurtland is celebrating its sixth anniversary with two limited-time-only items: buttery smooth, yellow birthday cupcake batter frozen yogurt and miniature cake bites toppings. The yogurt offers calcium, vitamins, probiotics and live and active cultures.

WeHo’s New Burger Lounge

Not only do these burgers taste good, they utilize healthy ingredients produced in a sustainable environment. The wild salmon burger is topped with fried tomatoes and housemade BBQ glaze. The Lounge burger is made with 100% single-source American grass-fed beef, and the all natural Turkey burger is made from free-range Shelton Farms turkey. There is also a Quinoa veggie burger made with organic quinoa, brown rice, zucchini, garbanzo, carrot, corn and chipotle. The Burger Lounge also serves salads and French fries twice-cooked. Beerfest in Manhattan Beach

On April 22 craft beer lovers will enjoy tasting more than 25 local and regional artisanal breweries at Shade Hotel. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. beer lovers will receive a commemorative mug to fill with Bootleggers Brewery from Fullerton, Golden Road Brewing from Los Angeles and Strand Brewing Company from Torrance. Other breweries include Smog City Brewing from Tustin and El Segundo Brewing Company. Hand-crafted tacos from Mucho Ultima Mexicana and Tri-tip sandwiches, turkey and beef burgers are available at Shade’s own restaurant and lounge at an additional cost. Cherry Blossom Festival at CHAYA

Japan gifted Washington D.C. 3,000 cherry trees 100 years ago. In honor of the anniversary, CHAYA Downtown is celebrating “Kaika”, the opening of the first cherry blossom with an assortment of dumplings, sushi rolls and picnic fare under the CHAYA cherry trees. The seasonal cocktail is a cherry Bellini. It goes nicely with Chef de Cuisine Atsushi Kenjo’s cherry blossom-inspired tasting menu with dishes ranging from $5 to $8. Free Burrito on Earth Day

Chipotle will reward eco-friendly diners with a free burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos on Earth Day, April 22. Purchase a Chipotle lunch bag from Chipotle’s online store between now and April 14 and bring it in to any Chipotle store. Each bag is made from recyclable materials and cost $18. Inside is a card containing a barcode that customers can redeem their free Chipotle menu item.
