Mamma Mia opened Tuesday night at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood to a packed house ready to dance and sing along with the three leading ladies, Donna, Rosie and Tonya, and the girls didn’t disappoint.
Donna (center), played by a svelte Kaye Tuckerman, is the mother-of-the-bride, whose best friends show up for her daughter Sophie’s wedding. When the three possible fathers make the trek to the Greek isle, things really heat up, especially between Donna and would-be dad Sam, played by a dapper Christian Wheelan.
Dancing queens Rosie (right, played by Mary Callanan) and a very sexy Tonya (played by Alison Ewing) fire up the audience with their fabulous comedy, singing and “disco-ing”.
It’s a fun evening, with lots to make you sing, dance and laugh. Be sure to stay for the encore, if only to see the costumes. Playing now through April 8, Tues.-Fri. at 8 p.m., Sat. 2 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m.
